Attackers are wising up and taking advantage of this gap in corporate defenses. In fact, researchers at Gartner predict that “in 2017, more than half of the network attacks targeting enterprises will use encrypted traffic to bypass controls, up from less than 5%.”
As a result, organizations that do not inspect SSL communications are providing an open door for attackers to infiltrate defenses and steal data. To prevent cyber attacks, enterprises need to inspect all traffic, and in particular encrypted traffic, for advanced threats.
