REAN Cloud Acquires AWS Big Data Firm 47Lining
REAN Cloud, an AWS Premier Partner and global Cloud Systems Integrator, has acquired 47Lining, an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner in the big data space.
47Lining develops big data solutions and delivers big data managed services built from underlying AWS building blocks such as Amazon Redshift, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, Machine Learning and Elastic MapReduce. Working across multiple industries, they help customers build, operate and manage “Data Machines” for their data-driven businesses.
“The strategic acquisition of 47Lining will help REAN Cloud scale to meet increased customer interest in Data Lakes, Redshift migrations, real-time analytics and data platforms for extreme event volumes,” said Sekhar Puli, Managing Director and Co-founder of REAN Cloud.
Cisco Acquires Network Security Startup Observable Networks
Cisco has acquired Observable Networks, a provider of real-time network behaviour monitoring to spot security breaches.
Observable Networks’ technology is based on dynamic behavioural modeling of all devices on a network. It employs cloud-native machine learning for faster and more accurate threat detection.
Observable Networks’ solutions provide security analysts with real-time situational awareness of all users, devices and traffic on the network.
“The acquisition of Observable Networks supports Cisco’s strategic transition toward software-centric solutions,” said Rob Salvagno, Cisco’s head of M&A.
Accenture Acquires Digital Optimisation Outfit Clearhead
Accenture has acquired Clearhead, a digital optimisation outfit that specialises in helping brands personalise their interactions with consumers.
Clearhead use a proprietary data-driven methodology to enable brands to optimise key digital marketing, merchandising, sales and service experiences. It sets up A/B or multivariate tests to evaluate hypotheses, analyse results, and redesign experiences accordingly.
“We bet big on personalization four years ago,” said Jeriad Zoghby, global personalization lead for Accenture Interactive.
“The term experience optimization, this ability to run experiments to improve digital performance of sites, apps, kiosks, whatever it may be – we consider it a new normal that everyone’s trying to do. It became very obvious that this would be a great fit for us.”
Arcserve Acquires Cloud Provider Zetta
Arcserve has acquired cloud provider Zetta, adding a direct-to-cloud disaster recovery and backup capability to its offerings.
The Zetta cloud service boasts a five-minute recovering time objective and is optimised for data sets of up to 500 TB with unlimited scalability. It performs automated disaster recovery, and supports VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisors.
“The acquisition of Zetta represents a significant next step in realizing our vision to advance the data protection industry towards disaster avoidance and prevention,” said Mike Crest, CEO of Arcserve.
“With Zetta, we now have the ability to offer a complete end-to-end product suite with near real-time cloud recovery and help our customers avoid the financial consequences of downtime and the loss of critical data across all platforms and delivery methods.”
Teradata Acquires Cloud Data Centre Startup Stack IQ
Teradata has acquired StackIQ, a San Diego-based startup that specialises in software used to automate data centres in the cloud.
StackIQ are developers of one of the industry’s fastest bare metal software provisioning platforms, used to manage the deployment of cloud and analytics software in data centres around the world.. They have notable expertise in open source software and large cluster provisioning.
“Adding StackIQ technology to IntelliFlex, IntelliBase, and IntelliCloud will strengthen our capabilities and enable Teradata to redefine how systems are deployed and managed globally,” said Oliver Ratzesberger, executive vice president and chief product officer of Teradata Labs.
